From routine checkups to treatments for surgery, Dr. Brian J. Schultz is equipped to handle all your podiatric needs. To help you understand your options, we've included descriptions of some of our leading services on this page.

Podiatrists study the whole body, but specialize in the lower extremities. We treat and diagnose systemic and local pathologies of the foot and ankle. There are many systemic illnesses which can manifest in the foot and ankle:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Infectious disorders
  • Circulatory disorders
  • Dermatological disorders
  • Arthritic disorders

We deal with local problems such as:

  • Heel and arch pain
  • Ingrown toenails
  • Hammertoes
  • Corns and calluses
  • Neuromas (pinched nerves)
  • Bunions
  • Sprains
  • Fractures
  • Warts

Fluoroscopy
The fluoroscope is an imaging tool which emits lower, more controlled radiation in order to observe the bone structure of the foot and ankle. Since foot pain is rarely experienced while standing still, use of the fluoroscope allows for an examination of the foot in motion, thereby recreating the discomfort and insuring a more complete and accurate diagnosis. Additionally, should a surgical procedure be indicated, the fluoroscope's computer-enhanced monitor can serve as the "eyes" of the doctor. Bunions, hammertoes, corns, and calluses are all fully evaluated by fluoroscopic diagnostic techniques, and a treatment plan is carefully constructed and presented on an individual basis.
